A player from Los Stallions Fouled a player on Hornets.  While still on the ground, the Los Stallion player kept kicking  the shins of the Hornet player who was running away.  The hornet player came back to yell at the Los Stallion player, and both teams went at eachother in one big brawl.  The first half was great, and players came up to me complimenting my refereeing.  The first 20 minutes of the second half were the same.  This foul made on the Hornet player just immediately put both teams out of control.  I stepped back with my linesman after I saw both teams were out of control, and witnessed both team captains trying to get their players back away from eachother.  I did not red card any one player, for both teams were out of control, with every player yelling obsenities at eachother.  I sounded my whistle 3 times and terminated the game.  Both teams agreed that play to continue was not going to happen.  Players from both teams came up to me and apologized for their behavior.  Players on both teams were so hot at that point, that to go out and continue the game was asking for more trouble.  I am sorry I do not have the numbers for the fouling Los Stallion player who started it all, or the Hornet who got fouled, because this happened in a split second and escalated like a bomb going off.  Neither me or my linesman were able to recall the players involved in the foul that started this fire.   Both captains were able to calm most of their players, although there were still players hot tempered and wouldnt calm down. I informed both captains that I would report we were in to the second half of the match with 20 minutes left, and that after the foul, I would report that both team got out of control. The players yelled at every call, and acted like children on a playground instead of grown adults.  The captains continuously tried to tell their players to play the game.  I tried to keep thick skin to avoid yellow carding most of the players on both teams.  Its not fun to referee adult players when they act like 4 year olds throwing tantrums.  #16 Vintage, Neal Renwick rec'd a red card and was sent off for slide tackling a player, getting up, yelling at my assistant referee, James Parker, and then proceeded to tell me that I was ""Talking out my behind"", Twice. I was within 10 yards and heard no verbal altercation.  My ARs reported that they saw no provocation from J. Olson (#8 with Attack).  #4 with Fusion, Nigel O’Brien, ran from over 20 yards away to get involved in the fight.  He did not come to help separate the fighters, but came at a full run to dove into some Attack players who were working with some Fusion players trying to separate the fighters. Once the fighters were separated, #21 with Fusion, Darren Kaplan, jumped up and yelled “Who kicked me in the head?  Who fucking kicked me in the head?  I want to know who fucking kicked me in the head.” These were the three I saw involved in the fighting.  During the altercation I terminated the match, at the end of regulation time.  When the fighting stopped, I had the teams leave the field.  After speaking with my ARs to verify numbers, they reported that #9 with Attack, G. Nickels, was also involved in the fighting.  After the field had been cleared, and I had verified with my ARs, I approached the Fusion team and issued red cards to #21, Darren Kaplan, and #4, Nigel O’Brien for violent conduct.  At this point # 21, Darren Kaplan became verbally abusive, telling me “You will never fucking ref any of my games again”, “that was a fucking shitty call”, and to “fuck off”.  I approached the Attack team, and issued red cards to #8, J. Olson, and #9, G. Nickels, for violent conduct.  As I was returning to my vehicle to complete the game reports, #21 of Fusion, Darren Kaplan, approached me in a threatening manner, yelling obscenities, at this time his teammates restrained him, and took him back to their bench area. It started out that way before the game when Lost a Step had a nonregistered player dressed and ready to play that wasnt registered and had not paid to play.  They also had 4 players without a picture ID.  They complained about showing a picture ID, and two players reluctantly came up with drivers lic.  The captain of the team was not happy, but knew the rules.  Most of the players were mad a me and some took off their shirts and were going to forfeit.  They decided to start with 8 men.  One players wife came later with his ID.  The game started 20 min late, which made the 7 oclock game late.  The game started out scrappy, with so many scrappy fouls, from both teams, but stemming from the chips on the shoulders from Lost a Step, that I had to call both captains to calm their players down.  It wasnt even soccer anymore.  That helped and the rest of the game was great.  All of this could have been averted if Lost a Step would have just had their ID's before the game.  The Captains MUST know to show their teams picture ID's and also try not to play players that are not registered and unpaid.  The players MUST stop getting mad at the referees for trying to uphold the league rules, and then taking it out on the opposing teams they are playing.  And it was not fair to the 7 oclock teams that our game ran late because of one teams failure to abide by the rules.     ","ljdevito@bellsouth.net","Submit"
